Route 69 Cruise Day at Trafalgar Holden Museum

News

October is shaping up to be the biggest and most exciting month of the year at the Trafalgar Holden Museum, with volunteers looking forward to welcoming Holden enthusiasts from across Australia for the annual Route 69 Cruise Day.

This year’s event will be held on Sunday, 18 October, celebrating 69 years of Holden-made cars in Australia.

Once again, the museum is thrilled to have the very last VF Commodore Police Car lead the cruise.

It will be an incredible sight as this significant piece of Holden history heads an array of classic and modern Holdens through the roads of Gippsland.

Holden owners travel from all over Australia to take part in Route 69 Cruise, sharing their stories, memories, and passion for the iconic Australian marque with fellow enthusiasts.

The museum itself is a celebration of that history.

Visitors are often surprised to discover just how much more there is to Holden’s story than cars.

For many years, Holden was involved in a wide range of products and industries before becoming one of Australia’s most famous car manufacturers.

With close to 100 vehicles on display, thousands of other Holden-related items and new displays being added regularly, there is always something new to discover at the museum.

On Route 69 Cruise Day, the museum will be open from 10am, with the 69km scenic cruise departing at 1pm and taking drivers through the beautiful Gippsland countryside.

Entry to the museum and the event is just $20, with food options available throughout the day.

Whether you own a Holden, grew up with one, or simply have a fond memory of the cars that helped shape Australian motoring, Route 69 Cruise Day promises to be a memorable day for the whole family.
