Trafalgar was treated to magnificent sunshine and a fantastic crowd for the 2026 Ellinbank & District Football Netball League Grand Final held on 12 September at the Trafalgar Rec Reserve, making it a memorable day for both our club and the wider community.
Although the ‘big dance’ did not go the way we had hoped for our Senior footballers, reaching the Grand Final was still a tremendous achievement and something everyone associated with TFNC should be proud of.
The success of the day extended well beyond the football and netball.
It was wonderful to see so many community groups working together, including the Trafalgar Junior Football Club, Trafalgar Cricket Club, Trafalgar Lions Club, Trafalgar Scouts, Trafalgar CFA and Gippsland Jersey.
Each group played an important role in delivering the event while raising much-needed funds for their respective community organisations.
A huge number of volunteers and committee members contributed countless hours before, during and after the Grand Final.
From preparing the ground and facilities to managing parking, catering and the many other jobs required on the day, their combined effort made the event such a success.
On behalf of Trafalgar Football Netball Club, thank you to everyone who supported us throughout the season and attended the Grand Final.
Your support helped create a tremendous atmosphere and showcased the strong community spirit we are fortunate to have in Trafalgar.
Finally, we extend our sincere appreciation to all our valued sponsors for their generous support throughout 2026.
Your contribution allows our club to continue providing opportunities for our players, members and the wider community.
While the result on the field was not the fairytale ending we had hoped for, the grand final was an outstanding community occasion and a proud day for Trafalgar.
