Latrobe Criminal Investigation Unit members have arrested two men, one from Trafalgar and one from Trafalgar East, and a woman following a kidnapping in Yinnar South on 26 July.
It is alleged that a 45-year-old Wallan man attended the address of a woman known to him for a pre-arranged meeting, about 11.40am.
When the victim arrived, the female had left the address and two males unknown to the victim, but alleged to be known to the woman, allegedly attended the property and began assaulting the victim.
The offenders put the victim in a vehicle, before allegedly stealing his vehicle and taking the man to nearby bushland.
The victim managed to escape from the offenders and attended an address on Creamery Road for assistance and called 000.
The victim was taken to hospital with significant injuries.
The 38-year-old-woman from Yinnar South was located by police and arrested. She has since been released pending further enquiries.
A 35-year-old Trafalgar man was arrested in Trafalgar on 28 July.
He has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, intentionally causing injury, theft of motor vehicle, theft, assault with a weapon, assault in company, and reckless exposure of a police officer to risk by driving.
He was remanded to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates Court on 31 July where he was further remanded in custody to appear before Latrobe Magistrates’ Court on 10 November.
A 42-year-old-man from Trafalgar South was arrested on 28 July and subsequently charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, intentionally causing injury, theft of motor vehicle, theft, assault with a weapon, and assault in company,
He has also been remanded in custody to appear before the Latrobe Magistrates’ Court on 10 November.
