On Saturday, 19 September the Trafalgar Bowls Club officially opened its greens for the start of the 2026/27 season.
The season looks to be a promising one for Trafalgar as an influx of new and keen members have allowed the club to enter four divisions in Saturday Pennant and three Divisions in Midweek Pennant.
On our opening day we provided last year’s club tournament winners with their trophies and awards; an eight pin was handed out to a division one rank who won eight shots on an end against Morwell last season, and finally we handed out a few super veteran badges to members that turned 80 in the past year!
Female club champion, Helen Robertson, and branch manager, Torina from Community Bank Trafalgar & District, completed our Commemorative bowl and officially opened our Blue Lagoon and the Swamp for the season.
In the afternoon members had a barbeque, and the opening round of the club mixed pairs had commenced.
It was a great day and it set the tone for what is going to be an amazing season.
