Trafalgar Holden Museum’s Neil Joiner Holden Heritage Centre is celebrating its first anniversary, marking a year of sharing stories, memories and motoring history with the Trafalgar community and beyond.
Opened last year as an extension of Trafalgar Holden Museum, the heritage centre has quickly become a highlight for visitors, offering a deeper look into the legacy of Holden and its place in Australian life.
The centre itself, stands as a lasting tribute to the museum’s founder Neil Joiner, whose vision and design brought the project to life.
While he conceived the space, it was the dedication of the museum’s volunteers who carried that vision through to completion – creating a display that continues to inspire visitors every day.
At the heart of the exhibit is a complete line-up of Holden Commodore models-an impressive showcase that traces the evolution of one of Australia’s most iconic cars.
For many visitors, it’s a nostalgic walk through the vehicles they owned, drove or grew up with.
Upstairs, the experience broadens beyond the cars themselves, revealing the diverse ways Holden became part of everyday Australian culture.
Displays explore Holden’s rich history at Bathurst, its unique range of branded jewellery and even a full kitchen fitted with Holden appliances-an eye-catching reminder of the brand’s place in Australian homes.
Importantly, the museum is open every day and fully accessible, ensuring that all members of the community can comfortably enjoy the exhibits and experience the stories on display.
With many locals yet to experience the new space, the anniversary is the perfect opportunity to pay a visit or return for another look.
Whether it’s reliving memories of a first car, discovering something unexpected, or simply enjoying a unique local attraction, the Neil Joiner Holden Heritage Centre offers something for all ages.
Locals are encouraged to come along, explore the displays and celebrate one year of preserving an important part of Australia’s motoring and cultural heritage-right here in Trafalgar.
